Our Story

Some loves arrive like thunder. Ours arrived like fog over Mendocino — slow, soft, and suddenly everywhere.

Adrian arrived at the dance studio at seven in the morning to photograph empty rooms for a renovation brief. He did not expect a class already underway — twelve dancers in grey leotards, moving through mist that had crept in from the hallway, lit only by one window catching first light.

Clara noticed the stranger with the camera and, instead of stopping, extended the phrase she was teaching a beat longer than usual. He lowered the camera. She landed the movement and looked straight at him, unbothered. _You're in my shot_, he said afterward. _You're in my studio_, she said back.

He returned the next morning with coffee instead of a camera. Three years, one renovated studio, and several hundred cups of coffee later, they are building a home with the same tall windows and quiet light he first saw her dancing in.

Clara trained as a ballet dancer for twelve years before becoming a movement instructor. She still counts every entrance in eight counts, moves through a room like she's crossing a stage, and believes the best love, like the best pirouette, feels effortless because of everything unseen holding it up.

### Adrian

Adrian is an architect who designs quiet, light-filled spaces — the kind with tall windows and rooms that seem to breathe. He met Clara while photographing a dance studio for a renovation, and has been trying, ever since, to build a home as graceful as she is.
