Pick up the match
A watercolor room of three arches, three unlit candles and a matchbox on the marble. The guest picks up the match, strikes it along the box and touches the flame to each wick: every candle that catches warms its arch and brings up the day, the month and the year in gold. When all three burn, the match goes out in a curl of smoke, the room comes up, petals fall and your names appear. The page keeps the ivory plaster and blush roses: photos in arches, a candle in each section that catches as it comes up, and the programme by candlelight.
